The Air Force has bestowed its Heritage Award on the Berlin Airlift exhibit created by the Enlisted Heritage Hall at Maxwell-Gunter AFB, Ala. EHH curator Bill Chivalette, says that research and planning for the exhibit began in 1995, but the actual display had to wait until completion of EHH’s new wing. The Hall dedicated both the wing and the Berlin Airlift exhibit in June 2005. (Read our January and September 2005 pictorials for more on the Hall.)
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
