Air Force civilian employee William Machingo received the DOD Small Business Program Manager of the Year award for his work while he was chief of an Air Force Plant 42 Integrated Product Team at Palmdale, Calif. Machingo now serves as the structural retrofit program manager for F-22 modifications and heavy maintenance at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
The Collaborative Combat Aircraft will be operational in the late 2020s, several years before the Next-Generation Air Dominance family of systems, Air Force officials told the House Armed Services tactical aviation panel.
