The Electronic Systems Center has awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a contract valued at $627.8 million to set up the Expeditionary Combat Support System, an effort designed to help streamline USAF logistics operations. According to an ESC release, CSC will apply commercial-off-the-shelf software to consolidate logistics processes and make them more user friendly. The new system will replace more than 400 separate current systems. It is scheduled to be fully operational by January 2013.
