The Air Force confirmed Wednesday that its inspector general has cleared Air Force Academy Commandant of Cadets Brig. Gen. Johnny Weida from a charge that he had attempted to proselytize non-Christian cadets at the academy, according to an Associated Press report. Weida’s name had been pulled from a promotion list. The Air Force now says it supports his promotion to major general. Weida was one of a new bunch of officers the Air Force installed at the academy to clean house after a sexual assault scandal. While none of the major aircraft contractors were selected to develop the Collaborative Combat Aircraft, all three say they are seeking further autonomous aircraft work for the Navy, foreign partners, or in the classified arena, and maybe future versions of the CCA itself.
