The enlisted force of Air Force Special Operations Command honored Lt. Gen. Michael Wooley, outgoing AFSOC commander, with the Order of the Sword. MSgt. Andrea Porter reports that Wooley is the sixth AFSOC commander to be inducted into the order. A special guest at the ceremony, retired CMSAF James Binnicker, said of Wooley, “I have seen a lot of general officers in my life … I have not seen any that would equal his compassion, his interest and love for his enlisted corps.”
A-10 Thunderbolt II attack planes in the Middle East are flying with fresh modifications as the Air Force looks to make the plane more versatile amid America’s ongoing blockade of Iranian ports and a tenuous ceasefire in the U.S. air war against Iran.
