USAF recently tapped for 2006-07 advanced education coursework more than 1,100 military and civilian personnel out of some 3,900 nominated by their senior raters. Working within the service’s Force Development program, development teams reviewed the candidates and recommended courses of study to select and rank order primary and alternate candidates. The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
