The Air Force has awarded the Bronze Star medal to Lt. Col. Cedric Wilson, commander of the 42nd Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB, Ala., for his service while deployed as head of the Defense Contract Management Agency at Bagram AB, Afghanistan. Scott Knuteson reports that Wilson shepherded contracts worth more than $758 million, which often required him to go outside the wire to visit forward locations.
The Air Force expects to start modifying its first B-52H Stratofortress bomber with new engines and other upgrades later this year, following the successful review of the Commercial Engine Replacement Program’s design.
