US Air Forces in Europe created the 501st Combat Support Wing just over a year ago to support seven geographically separated units in Great Britain and, according to Lt. Gen. Robert D. Bishop Jr., it is doing its job. Bishop, who is USAFE vice commander and Air Command Europe commander, visited each of the seven GSUs recently. He said, “It’s a phenomenal sight when you stand there and witness these high-caliber professionals in action and observe what they achieve in vital areas such as communications, intelligence, and munitions.”
Anduril and General Atomics will develop their Collaborative Combat Aircraft for the Air Force, beating out Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, the service announced on April 24. But any of the non-selected companies can compete to actually manufacture the eventual design, the Air Force said.
