The Air Force is training for urban close air support and once again enlisting the cooperation of a local community. This time the training is taking place over Pahrump, Nev., and continues for brief periods through Thursday. Last year, the service flew around three towns in Louisiana to practice UCAS operations.
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
