The recent Brno International Air Festival in the Czech Republic had among its featured aircraft a C-17 from March ARB, Calif. SrA. David Flaherty reports that airmen from Air Force Reserve Command’s 729th Airlift Squadron flew the “Spirit of California” in the air show during as part of a good-will tour. The US airmen were a little surprised at the popularity of their aircraft and were greeted with cheering, questions, and autograph seekers.
The Air Force has tapped sites in Oregon to build its first two new Over-the-Horizon Radars, capable of detecting inbound missile threats from up to 4,000 nautical miles away. The service is hoping to start construction by the end of 2028.
