Airmen from Air Force Special Operations Command’s 17th Special Operations Squadron who returned recently from a Southwest Asia rotation took time to visit six classes of first, second, and third graders on the Japanese island of Okinawa. The airmen, who are based at Kadena AB, Japan, wanted to thank the students for writing and sending cards to them during their first deployment to SWA. (Read more here.)
U.S. Southern Command recently announced its first lethal strike on a suspected narco-trafficking vessel in two months, and the first under a newly formed permanent counter-cartel task force. The U.S. is also reportedly planning to transfer MQ-9 drones to Colombia to bolster its counter-cartel efforts.
