Air Guard Has Another Good Month:
According to the latest recruiting and retention data, the Air National Guard, which has been struggling to reach its goal this year, achieved 19 percent above its June goal. All the active services made or bettered their goals for recruiting and expect to be on target for retention. On the reserve front, only the Naval Reserve also failed to make its June goal. For the fiscal year so far, the Air Guard stands at 92 percent and Naval Reserve at 83 percent of their targets for new recruits. However, the Air Guard remains strong in retention, achieving 108 percent of its cumulative goal.
The Air Force is seeking funding to let its pilots fly a little more than 1.1 million hours in fiscal 2027, which would be the most in about four years. But even if Airmen actually do fly all 1.1 million hours, it would still be short of the 1.3 million…
