According to the latest recruiting data released by the Pentagon, the Air National Guard achieved 133 percent of its goal for November, the highest of any component, active duty or reserve. All the services were able to at least match their recruiting goals, including the Army National Guard, which reached 116 percent. The active Air Force and Air Force Reserve Command each reached 100 percent, continuing the new fiscal year’s strong start.
The Air Force will begin its 71st annual Operation Christmas Drop on Dec. 4. The weeklong exercise is a yearly tradition that delivers supplies such as food, fishing equipment, school books, and clothes to remote islands in the Pacific. It is the longest-running Department of Defense humanitarian mission.
