Offensive?: Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell on Monday renewed his promise to keep the A-10s of the Pennsylvania ANG’s 111th Fighter Wing at their NAS Willow Grove home. Rendell is putting a lot of stock in US Dist. Judge John Padova’s decision that the Pentagon does not have the right to remove the fighters without Rendell’s consent. (See DR, 8/29/05.) Rendell has ordered his adjutant general not to allow the aircraft to be removed. The Pentagon has the next move, but there’s no certainty that DOD is in any rush.

Tributes to the six crew members that died in the KC-135 Stratotanker crash in Iraq have flooded social media since the Pentagon released their identities March 14. They were the first Airmen to die while supporting Operation Epic Fury against Iran.
