She is the Air National Guard assistant to the commander of Air Education and Training Command and now Maj. Gen. LaRita Aragon. Aragon, who was the first woman to reach star rank in the Oklahoma ANG, received her second star on Dec. 22 at the state capitol, reports the Shawnee News-Star.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
