The Air Force has transferred the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron from Air Force Space Command to Air Combat Command. The transfer, which took effect April 14, affects 11 officers, 16 enlisted members, and three civilians who will continue to work at Schriever AFB, Colo., but will operate under the 57th Adversary Tactics Group, part of the USAF Warfare Center at Nellis AFB, Nev. The 527th SAS is exercise-central for simulated attacks on space systems, to prepare operators to recognize and counter attacks in combat environments.
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
