Inspector General teams from Air Combat Command and Air Force Space Command that recently inspected the two wings at Minot AFB, N.D., for their nuclear surety practices gave both ACC’s 5th Bomb Wing and AFSPC’s 91st Space Wing the highest inspection ratings. The ICBM unit, the 91st SW, also underwent a readiness inspection, receiving an “excellent.” According to Brig. Gen. Thomas Deppe, AFSPC’s 20th Air Force commander, there is no Air Force inspection “as comprehensive as a NSI.” He added that in his 39 years, he has “never seen results like this.”
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
